📝 *GUARD* *YOUR ‘GOAL POST’ – LETTER TO MOFOLORUNSHO VOL 8* 😎
I want to believe you started this year with dreams, aspirations and plans to achieve.
Yes, everyone does. We all hope all our prayers will indeed be answered as we work at them.
I write this letter to remind you this week of the importance of guarding your goals jealously this year because distraction comes to us all uninvited. It takes a determined and disciplined mind to pull through.
This reminds me of one of my favorite sporting activities during my pastimes while growing up. It is this type of football called ‘ *MONKEY POST’.*
It’s a very interesting football competition consisting of less than 4 members in a team (Set), No goal keeper. You do not need the whole world to meet your goals.
You just need people with complementary graces, skills, passion, and the right attitude.
The amazing facts about this Nigerian brand of football is that Less football pitch size is required, any soft material can serve the ball especially among the younger folks (Not necessarily the leather ball as we use to call it). This for me is a lesson that creativity and efficient use of available resources at your disposal is key to fulfilling your goals.
Monkey Post Game is a unique type of football activities because Team members can switch roles as need arises.
A type of strategy you must adopt to fulfil your dreams for the year. You need not be rigid in working at your goals.
Another fun fact I remembered about this game is that Every team member works tirelessly to win.
No one is a monopoly of scoring a goal… As roles change in the team, everyone has a potential of setting the opponent’s goal post ablaze. You can win if you work at your goals. You can. I believe!
Every member of the team is a goal keeper. It’s impossible for me to forget a game my team once played against a stronger and more skillful. We knew we had to switch roles and defend our goal post more because a strike into our goal post will eventually lead to our exit from the game. We played the game so well that it took close to an hour before a winner could emerge. We won that day because we had to change our strategy.
We worked to defend our goal post, We gave our opponent a lot of headaches. Yes, it was a very serious game.
Folorunsho, as with every other things I have aforementioned, you need to guard your ‘goal POST’ against every opposition, setbacks, unforseen circumstances that can discourage you from fulfilling your dreams. Guarding your goal post takes a lot of effort, commitment, discipline and tactfullness.
I will be glad seeing you pick up those goals this week, take a good look at them. Write them out again if you haven’t, then Read them out loud to yourself and say… ‘I Can Do Them!… ‘I Will Achieve Them!’ ‘I Will Guard My Goals’…
I know you can!
Do have a wonderful week ahead.
I love you
Your Brother and Friend,
PS: I am always lucky to be part of the winning team whenever I play The ‘Monkey Post’ Game.
I feel like teaching some digital stuff this week!
